Where is NMN permitted?

After the 2022 drug-preclusion dispute, FDA formally reversed its position in September 2025 and reinstated NDI status in December 2025. The 2022 action was a legal-process issue, not a safety finding.

Listed as usable in food since 2020. Thirteen NMN Foods with Function Claims are registered (walking ability, sleep quality, skin moisture, etc.).

Not recognized under either the notified or individually-approved system; sold in Korea only via cross-border purchase and not eligible for functional claims. (Status may change — verify at Food Safety Korea.)

Classified as an unauthorised novel food (Nov 2022); cannot be sold.
